this cny has had to be the most uneventful i've ever had in hk. no night markets, no parade, no fireworks. i was expecting to go visit cny night markets on the 29th day of the lunar calendar of last year, and yet both mina and kelvin were busy..? i was expecting to visit my relatives on new yrs day but dad said we would do that on the second new yrs day? so we spent our first day of the year of the rooster trawling mk through streets where half the shops were closed. process was repeated on the second day of the new year where we went to olympic city shopping centre and the only places open were pricerite and the food court. i was hoping to go watch the new years fireworks live from tst but everyone else was busy/sick/not in hk? so i watched from home. on the third day of the chinese new year, i had yum cha with my uncle and aunt and their respective children. and afterwards, dad decided to stay at home while i went to admiralty and central to be a random tourist. i think dad was channelling his energy in its entirety towards the cny horse races.
