was at janice's place yesterday making TRADITIONAL CHINESE DESSERTS w/ ben, margaret, hui and janice ^^ or uhHH .. attempting to at least =.=" while they turned out edible, can't say they tasted/looked exactly how they were meant to ><
on the menu: 湯圓, 芒果布甸 and 紅豆糕. the first one was SO INHERENTLY SIMPLE yet we still managed to fail and all the filling came out in the soup.. second one tasted fine.. just not mango pudding enough?? even the colour's wrong >=( involved a fair bit of improvisation; namely microwaving the mixture up to 5 times because we decided it needed more gelatin..also slightly confused as to procedure of margaret's mum's simplified version of a recipe..had no idea what defined a "small packet" of gelatin? and what exactly "whipping cream" meant? and the azuki bean cake.. ended up letting azuki beans boil/steam for wayY too long.. we couldn't get the pot lid off for like 1.5hrs?? AHAHA. spent ages drumming on lid/running it under cold water/putting ice on the lid. and later janice's mum tells us we should have just boiled the pot more so as to expand it? argHH
dinner @ some cafe at beverly hills and bumped into hui who was going to her friend's birthday in the same area o.O and she ended up parking right next to janice's car..
headed back to janice's place after and hui and aimee decide to visit. janice brought out her autograph book and we sat around her kitchen reminiscing primary and high school. until all the mums started calling and we decided to head back home. ended up leaving around 12:30am. AHAHA we were meant to leave 2hrs before that =.="
