haven't had so much fun in agesSss.. finally went to watch howl's moving castle at dendy newtown with mina and monica.. which i'd been pining to see since MARCH i kid you not.. ever since i saw a poster for it at silvercord in hk and i was like o0oh ghibli must watch must watch.. and this whole time i'd been lying in vain hope for its release on dvd.. though very thankful that i was able to enjoy it as a cinematric experience because it was such a film that deserves it
true to his name, hayao miyazaki delivered the magic, the fantasy, the surrealism in the mundane, the shivers down your spine. and of course the gaps in the story, the metaphors of metaphors of metaphors.. which makes it all the more complete as you're left to ponder the layers yourself and interpret as you may.
added bonus: ハウルはすごくかっこいい～！！ *starry eyed* and 木村拓哉 did the voiceover for him?? i didn't even realise until the credits rolled..

went to karaoke at viva with ben and margaret. like omfg green box and big echo and EVEN KMIX were packed on a wednesday afternoon?? damn school holidays *rages* but wasn't all too bad. now we know where to head when all the places are packed AHAHAH. but argHh slight disappointment as to their lack of songs. couldn't find any 嵐 or オレンジレンジ or even サイン by Mr. Children. seriously my library of k-able jpop ain't that exhaustive =.="
but omfg karaoke with alcohol is the best EVERSSSS. between the 3 of us, we went through 2 4packs..that is, ben 3 standard drinks, margaret 4.9, self 4.1. those 3hrs, priceless.. swaying, yelling, dancing to mvs, hysterics, skipping/muddling lyrics, countless utterances of "ergHh head heavy..", "i have no more breath"..
along the way home after dinner bumped into rachel lim, who'd lost her voice from a bit too many intoxicated karaoke visits. something like 3 or 4 days CONSECUTIVE. lesson learnt.
