so i'm already back from a small baku xmas gathering. a very brief, minor thing, which is good i guess because you don't end up getting too drunk to bring on any disastrous consequences. nevertheless, our manager seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed herself by persistently opening champagne bottles and doing the rounds. wonderful gossip about the bosses who were absent from the party ..apparently one of them enjoys talking on the phone in an indian accent, and is able to carry a conversation about asia for a full hour with staff employees during their shifts.. as well as of course eccentric customers that have frequented the stores throughout the years. one of which involves a man who would talk to himself in the store mirrors for 10 minutes, kiss the mirror, then leave. i have yet to witness this and freak myself out, as it appears that he is a loyal visitor. and a woman who laybys items under different names and enjoys paying them off in $10, if not $5 instalments.
getting rid of leftovers is always an issue, but being good samaritans we decided on giving it away to the homeless.. go team!!.. and the manager ended up keeping the remaining champagne..
