FACT: japanese people love to abbreviate english words/phrases into their language. so much so it becomes obsessive and the pronunciation of the original phrase becomes severly contorted. CASE IN POINT:

• パソコン (pasokon) = personal computer
• テロ　(tero) = terrorism

this morning during interlinks morning tea, i learnt another one.. a popular fast food chain in japan, first-kitchen, becomes.. fir[st-]k[itch]en..i.e. it's pronounced "fuh-ken" such an abbreviation is apparently widely used among japanese people. ... me: don't japanese people know they're swearing?? seriously they must know "fuck"?! nana: yeah we know "fuck".. but i think most japanese people don't know "fucking"/"fuck off"... oh. okay then. ??
